I remind all of the saying “Even a broken clock is right twice a day“. In other words for those that still don’t get it. The most evil of persons that ever existed, might occasionally get something right. Trump and his fighting mate are most definite questionable. I watch my words for legal reasons.
.
The fighter has been exposed to be of questionable character – while at times stating more extreme ideologies that are more narrowminded rather than allowing a mind to exist that can at least, accept more moderate, center based notions.
.
What am I on about? Let’s be honest again here.
.
1. Ireland needs to slow down the amount of people coming into Ireland – even if it’s to be a temporary measure. We cannot cope with what’s here already. We generally seek a better balance regarding incomers alongside what we can actually cope with.
2. In a caring and yes, mostly Christian society and its fundamental base ideology of charitableness, we must try to care for all given our limited resources and tight logistics.
3. Extreme notions never produce stable, long existing societies. History is still screaming this lesson at us over centuries.
.
So, while McGregor might have hit on a matter that is of great concern to Ireland, he appears to push his notions to more extremist directions that – as history teaches us – brings no long-term stable, successful societies based around ultranationalist, isolationist notions. There is a more center ground that should be found and maintained while limitations might have to be put in place – even for a short while – as we try to rebuild our economy alongside improved abilities – and then, having done that, getting back to more caring for more others of the world – once we have a better, able to cope, stronger society at home, in order to be able to do it without it all further damaging our nation’s existence.
.
We should also not forget that we Irish, more than once, had to go to other lands in order to seek a better life. Not all that went, were criminals, perverts, etc. Many that went, were just decent people willing to work hard and try to survive along with their families they brought with them.
.
Let’s not judge all that come to Ireland with a too wide-ranging, total negative brush, as I believe that such would be still wrong too apply. There is bad and good in most things. The extremists will only have you see the bad, so that the notions of extremists only get their own agendas served more – which is what they want, to further exploit others through a more narrow-minded train of thought, for their own gain, be it more power, ego trip or financial. Sometimes all three together.
.
Another saying “Eaten bread is soon forgotten“. The more educated or wise among us will get it.
