.
This week through the courts of Ireland, yet again we saw at least two serious injustices occur. The first involved a young thug that caused a young girl to fall under a train. He got off with no imprisonment sentence. He basically got a slap on the hand, community reprimand. He could have killed the girl. The thug knew exactly what he was doing – and it was likely not his first time acting as a thug.
.
Then there was the Garda that sent over 30,000+ abusing texts to a woman he had also beaten the crap out of repeatedly, threatening her on hospital sick bed and much more. He got three years of a sentence – so he will likely be out in two or less.
.
* It looks like he gets to keep his Garda pension because he resigned. Five minutes after sentence was handed down, why the hell wasn’t he officially fired??? THE LAW NEEDS TO CHANGE HERE REGARDING THIS but our government politicians are again deaf.
.
* He got a light sentence because this was his first offence, according to an ex-garda, turned judge, who shipped out the light term. So, “first offence” got to push aside the thousands of abuses, threats and assaults made? Something again stinks here. Big time. Again, our government is deaf.
.
1. Tougher sentences need to be handed out.
2. Consecutive running, handed out sentences are a sick joke and victims are not laughing.
3. In the case of the Garda, his pension should be stripped from him (if only because he built it up while abusing his job position) and awarded to his victim.
4. Anyone that deliberately risks the life of another, should certainly not get a slap on hand sentence.
.
Upon a “Guilty” verdict, the option to resign should be automatic stripped away – and if he resigned before sentence, once “Guilty” is rendered, via new law needed, he and others should have resign perks rescinded.
.
But again, our government parties are deaf to all this. Deliberately blind too. It’s not good enough.
.
P.S. I will be watching the next government, if only to see if they address the above situations! Our current law breaking, deaf and blind government won’t.
