Putin was wrong in invading the Ukraine. The war that he started, gave NATO/PESCO and EU army, a golden opportunity to jump onboard an already running PR train – one that was shouting “We need more money to spend on weapons”.
.
Putin’s invasion was joyus news for some heads in Europe and yes, for some FG asskissing (to EU heads) brown-nosers who are determined to further destroy what’s tiny left of Irish neutrality. Putin’s actions has done Ireland no favours but it certainly has helped agendas within Fine Gael – and the Greens and Fianna Fáil are going along with all this crap.
.
We can argue about “was Putin justified?” – I say “No” because I think he should have handled the situation far better through peaceful diplomacy – but there was truth in what he was saying, was going on against Russian people living in the south-east region of the then Ukraine state.
.
There was (and still is) extreme right-wing Azov factions operating within the Ukraine state. Western media continues to large cover this up deliberately.
.
Also covered up, deliberately glossed over, is the Ukrainian government undemocratic action of banning all other opposition parties. Trade unions have been stomped on and more. Of course, RTE declines to report this as it also declines to report the existence of still existing extreme factions continuing their own ethnic cleansing in the South-east. The facts of all this are there on record to be found via professional reporting, aid organisations and other neutral outlets. Everything is confirmable.
.
I support the right of the Ukraine people to defend their land from any invasion just as much as I support the right of the Palestine state not to be invaded too. That said, the president of the Ukraine openly supports Israel and their international illegal recognised invasion, land grabbing antics – while same time hypocritically gives put about Russia doing same!
.
As far as Zelensky is concerned, it’s OK for Israel to invade another state and steal land – but HE gives out when his own land is invaded and land stolen! Anyone see double-standards?
.
* Putin was wrong to invade. He should have handled the crises better. He screwed up big time.
* Zelensky while right to defend his own state, is operating (a) with double standards while (b) still allowing right-wing extremists to exist in his state.
.
The former is opinion. The latter can be independently confirmed care of many real neutral sources.
.
It would be a massive mistake by the EU, to overlook Ukraine political extremes and corruption, in order to see the Ukraine entered as part of the EU org. The EU would be deliberate turning a blind eye to many wrongs.
.
As we now know, the EU has enough corrupt heads in it, from the top down. If it really wants to take the piss out of European people, they will stupidly let an undemocratic, rights bashing state into it – but then again, it too wants to justify the existence and expansion of its own EU army!
.
So, for the time being the people of Europe will remain screwed by the very people they elected to look out for them. What a god damn mess with no end in sight!

NEWS REPORT – LINK
.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed into law a controversial statute expanding the government’s power to regulate media groups and journalists in the country.
.
Zelensky signed the legislation on Thursday over the objections of media unions and press freedom organizations that warned it will have a chilling effect on free speech.
.
Under the new law, the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council, whose members are appointed by the president’s administration and by members of parliament, will have broader authority over Ukrainian media organizations and journalists.
.
The regulatory agency can effectively shut down news sites that aren’t registered, according to The Kyiv Independent.
.
In a statement last month, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine said the bill posed a “threat” to press freedom in the country.
.
“Such powers are clearly excessive,” the organization wrote. “No one has yet managed to tame freedom of speech in Ukraine. It won’t work this time either.”
.
Zelensky’s administration has been accused of suppressing press freedom. He first ordered the drafting of a new law to boost media regulation in 2019, the year he entered office.
.
The law was passed along with several other new statutes lawmakers say are required in order to become eligible for European Union membership, which Ukraine applied for last year.
.
The bill for the legislation, which the Ukrainian parliament passed on Dec. 13, was watered down after mounting criticism.
.
Previous draft versions handed the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council a greater ability to impose fines on media groups, revoke licenses from printed media and block online outlets from publishing restricted information.
.
When the draft versions were released, several international media organizations voiced opposition to the law, including the Committee to Protect Journalists and the European Federation of Journalists.
.
Ricardo Gutiérrez, general secretary of the European Federation of Journalists, told The New York Times the law still contradicted European press freedom standards.
.
“Ukraine will demonstrate its European commitment by promoting a free and independent media, not by establishing state control of information,” Gutiérrez said.
