It’s been another interesting week in political Ireland. The Minister for Housing has been exposed for his continuing censorship regarding scheme costs and the Minister for Health has been exposed over censorship he imposed on others already struggling to deal with a Navan/Drogheda hospital mess, the Minister himself has failed to deal with.
.
A FF Dail room meeting was held where it was hoped, up to 15 people would turn up. Instead, 30 did. All expressed very strong unhappiness at the way things were going under a floundering leadership.
.
Fine Gael heads were delighted that the DPP they helped to get hired, came back with a “No prosecution” decision in their favour – despite evidence of a whistle-blower, phone texts and even an open Dail admission of guilt by the main culprit. Incredible stuff!
.
The law abusing leaker will now re-take his power throne by December 16th. All allowed by the current occupier who has failed at every turn, to challenge his usurper and its FG party from leading FF in a merry dance since 2020.
.
Not even at the halfway mark of a five year government term, more elected have abandoned the government. The three party setup now needs Michael Lowry (and mates) more than ever, to stay alive – and Mr Lowry knows it. What his price will be, to keep the government in office, remains to be discovered!
.
In the meantime, in order to further keep SF out of government, its been announced that some constituency zones could become up to six-seater districts. FG and FF heads are hoping this gerrymandering fix will see SF further screwed at the next general election.
.
The HSE failed to explain why it was spending up to €770 million Euro of public money when it only had permission to actually spend €205 million – then again, this is the same setup that’s unable to explain where another €70+ million Euro has also vanished to. No answers or accountability is coming from Stephen Donnelly. He’s busy, apparently trying to keep his head down, hoping the scandals don’t blow up further – thus exposing any further government incompetency.
.
The Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, came out saying she is personally in favour of convicted drug dealers paying a higher rate of tax on their (illegal gathered) income. Yes, you read that right. It’s not made up. Google it. Yes, of course this news nugget item too, has also been #rtecensored.
.
Meanwhile RTE itself, has been busy carrying out much non-reporting of widespread European protests that have continued. A lot of what’s going on in Ireland and within the EU, has been exposed far more so by newspapers not Ireland owner based – but still get sold here. This has increasingly become “the norm” situation for Ireland.
.
The country’s national nomadic wander is expected back to answer Dail questions after three weeks of being missing in action. His war tourist jaunt over, a photo opportunity completed, he’s now expected back in the Dail – just in time to attack opposition before he too takes his 10 week holiday. Then off he goes again… His ‘charity’ registered party continues to give out about others allegedly abusing laws – while letting a leaker off for abusing laws – while also being unable to also look in their own party mirrors to spot law abusers!
.
Phone, Internet and power bill hikes continue to be again announced by companies that are still making up to €600+ million annual profit margins. While other EU states are imposing price freezes, Ireland’s government still refuses to do same – while RTE and other government liking media continue to unreport it all.
.
It’s an average week in Ireland.
