This morning’s most popular, Irish daily newspaper (often daily FG/FF newsletter) leads on its front page, a statement of the plain obvious that’s been well known for years, and stated by many for years. The Indo’ headline states “Quick fix for housing crises is dashed by shortage of builders”.
.

.
The fact that opposition to FG (and its constant enablers) has been stating for years “The government is not hiring enough builders, year on year” cannot go ignored. Only now, as serious election vote loss, cold reality faces FG and FF especially, are they willing to even moderately reverse course – to try to start building more homes – or for PR purposes, appear to be trying. Even if their efforts are now part genuine out of self-interest, in part, through panic over upcoming general election devastation, their efforts are too little, far too late.
.
I repeat what I posted in a comment section of a previous post. “Many of us have been saying for years that we should have a better setup that creates (through apprenticeships and employed, already skilled others) new housing stock. However, FG/FF combinations have instead, dropped the number of state builds, allowed builders to slip from their grasp (deliberately?) and refused to form the state setup needed to organise a new state building agenda. Numbers on records show, especially since 2011, a dramatic drop in social house builds. It can be no coincidence that same time, FG backed/enabled by others, also changed laws to allow the vultures rush in along with property and land speculators.
.
At ultimate core, is the TTIP/CETA privatisation of everything for profit, agenda.”

SIDE NOTE: An agenda that has never stopped being tried to be achieved. More of our state services and department sections are, even now, being closed down (internal workers “sequested” – pressganged) and the work needed to be done, awarded instead, to even more private companies. From hospital services to state employment services. It’s all being packed up and being given to privileged private setups – care of Fine Gael, Fianna Fail, Labour and the too damn quiet, useless Green Party. Enablers all.

Back on topic, the Indo’ headline states not only the obvious – but it’s doing it part in helping to setup the excuse that will be tried used a lot, to excuse away the failings of Fine Gael and yes, Fianna Fail in particular, as local and national elections approach. Both parties have had YEARS to change course and agenda. With every passing year and indeed, a decade, both had done bugger all, to do so. Both never thought that there might even be a remote possibility, that both parties might never be part of a future Ireland government. However, that is really a chance possibility, now, more than ever. Knowing this, they are in, behind closed door, panic mode. Let’s be clear…

1. They deliberately for years, refused to hire enough builders nor create the much called for, state setup that could earlier start embarking to build the homes that to others, could clearly see for years, was going to be more needed.

2. In their arrogance while sitting in power, constantly lecturing down to the rest of us, they not only stripped local councils of once long existing, yearly apprenticeship opportunities for school leavers, they further – deliberately – did not maintain yearly build numbers. In fact, records expose the numbers year on year dropped.

3. So, builders no longer hired by the government went were? Yes, to the private sector. Leaving in this two-party created wake, what? A year-on-year further shortage of available builders.

*** The part you are not meant to ultimately cop, is that Fine Gael and Fianna Fail (plus enablers) have long created the steps that today, have led to the now dire consequences we all face. ***
.
Their privatisation agenda – an agenda NEVER put to the people for democratic vote consent to pursue – has left future generations, our children, mega screwed in trying to have a home, to yes, come personal home to!
.
Now, you are expected to just swallow that the current lack of builders, is a new’ish problem. One that couldn’t have been forseen. It’s total utter crap. It long has been stated by opposition, including me, as an increasing issue, as we seen the problem being year on year, being further exacerbated by FG/FF privatisation antics.
.
It’s a FG/FF created problem that they, their very selfish, have long, year on year, increasingly created. In decade seeking a TTIP/CETA agenda, the lack of builders issue, is something that could have, should have, been addressed long before now.
You know it.
I know it.
They damn know it.
.
They just refuse to admit it to the people. It’s damn obvious why! Clue? Votes… The fear of even more losing them. Well, they can try fool some of the people, some of the time, but their opportunity to fool all of the people, all of the time, is coming to an end. The bull-crap excuses now being more tried on, doesn’t wash with the better informed and long aware, of Ireland. Roll on the next elections.
